Pendants are unique, in that they allow for our designers to express their artistic vision like no-other lighting fixture.
A unique iteration of the Strobilus Major design, built for more restrictive indoor environments.
Strobilus is a sculptural organic design which brings a new architecture to high output low energy lighting. Designed by Jonathan Coles, Strobilus is inspired by the form of an open pine cone. Although ground-breaking and striking in its design, Strobilus is reassuringly comfortable in appearance. Formed from 100% recycled paper pulp, the carefully arranged leaves, which spiral as they would in nature, diffuse the light beautifully and reduce glare. Each textured leaf individually warms, shifts and softens the bright light so that the space is illuminated naturally and efficiently.
Based around French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel’s 1823 technique to reduce the thickness of a large lens by splitting it into an array of smaller lenses for use in lighthouses. Rombilus’ specular lenses reflect and refract the internal light to create a truly unique pendant fitting. Designer Jonathan Coles is fascinated by these large lenses and has drawn inspiration from Fresnel to design a multi-lensed fitting that controls the light and is also an equally a breathtaking glass object.
A simple IP44 pendant, PENDULA suitable for a PAR38 LED lamp. Its simple straight lines coupled with an impressive light output make it ideal for various applications from low hung accent lighting over a table to high ceiling mounted applications.
